Beginner Plants

Plants have different temperaments – some are easy going, low-maintenance, and adaptable and some need a little more TLC. Consider your level of experience with plants and how much time you can dedicate to care for them weekly. If your life is hectic, consider starting off with a spider plant, Pothos, Snake plant or succulent.

Pet-Friendly

Purchasing non-toxic plants is important to keep your dog or cat safe. Suggested plants: Calatheas, Chinese Money, Poneytail Palm, spider plant.

Location

Consider location before picking out your plant. Do you have a sunny window sill perfect for an aloe plant or a floor basket planter ready for a large cactus? Different plants will thrive in different areas based on lighting and space. Low-light areas in your home or office can be challenging for certain houseplants . Try to place these houseplants in an east- or west-facing room with a window, even if they receive no direct sunshine. Some good choices for low-lighting are snake plant, ZZ plant, Chinese Evergreen, Pothos and ivy.
